Speaking of challenges, the 2019 Yamaha Kodiak 450 has full-length skidplates, nearly 10 inches of ground clearance and independent double wishbone suspension with adjustable shocks. Tackling tough terrain is no sweat for the ATV or the rider.
Unlike other middleweight ATVs, the Kodiak 450 isn’t just a smaller engine under a full-sized body. Yamaha design this compact chassis powerhouse to give riders precise handling and maneuverability while allowing riders to enjoy the same roomy feel as the larger Kodiak 700. With tall handlebars, a seat that is long and plush for improved rider comfort, large textured floorboards, and an oversized thumb throttle, the Kodiak 450 was designed precisely with the intent to bring class-leading levels of refinement to the middleweight 4×4 ATV segment.
And like all Yamaha’s products, Kodiak 450 uses a range of features to improve durability and serviceability including the tool-less air filter design and oil drain ports to the high-mounted air intakes and marine-grade electrical connectors.
Hydraulic front disk brakes add to rider confidence with powerful and consistent feel and performance. The rear brake is sealed to protect it from dirt, mud, rocks and more.
Its beefy 25-inch tires feature an aggressive tread pattern to maximize available traction while providing precise steering and optimized comfort. And, a heavy-duty ball mount comes standard allowing the 2019 Yamaha Kodiak 450 to tow more than 1,322 pounds.
Riders have a clear picture of speed, fuel level, transmission status and more with a compact all-LCD instrument cluster, while the standard 12V power port allows riders to keep their devices charged even when they’ve got a long day on the trails.
